About Me
You can get my resume from hereA Very Brief History
My full name is Amedeo Salvatore Bonanno. I was born in Toronto Ontario, and was brought up in Mississauga. I was raised in an Italian home, which meant that every year we made our own wine, tomato sauce, and sausages. I remember that feeling when we decided to make wine. I loved it, but not because I like wine (which I can't stand by the way) but because school had just started, and Autumn was approaching. Autumn is my favourite Season. If I was able to control the Seasons, I'd keep it Autumn all year round. That nice chill in the air where it wasn't too cold, but not too warm either.
I always loved the thought of starting a new school year. But after the first week I always wished that it was
summer again. Until I reached highschool, I never really bothered to study for tests. I always did my homework,
but I never could sit and study for a test. I got average grades...
but I knew that if I put my mind to it, and spent the time that I needed to studying, I could get very good grades.
High School
When I got to highschool, I started working very hard. I knew that my career depended on it. I made sure that I didn't procrastinate anymore, and that I completed my homework well in advance. Also, when I found out about an upcoming test, I made sure that I studied a little bit every night. When I got to grade 10, I took my first programming course. The language was QBasic, and it was just to get my "feet wet" in programming. After that we went on to learn Visual Basic 6. In grade 11, I decided to take the math and science courses. I took University Math, Physics, and Chemistry. I also took the programming course which is where I learned Turing. Finally in grade 12, I became convinced that Computer Programming was something that I wanted to do. I took Calculus and Discrete Maths, Physics, and Chemistry. I also took the programming course which is when I started using Java. This is where I was first introduced to Object Oriented Programming.
College
After I graduated from High School (in 2005), I spent an extra semester upgrading some of my math grades. I was so determined to get very good grades that I completed both Grade 12 maths with 90's. The following year, I went to Humber College where I studied Game Programming. Most of my programming knowledge came from the three years that I spent at Humber. I learned all kinds of programming languages including Java, C/C++, C#, Objective-C. I also learned the process of software (and game) development. As one of my professors told me in my final semester , "...school only teaches you how to learn, it is up to you to do the rest." I graduated from Humber College in April 2010, with Honours. I received the Academic Award of Excellence for achieving the highest overall honours average in the Game Programming Program. I started studying on my own, and I continue to expand my knowledge because learning never stops.
